The DVC Field Guide Resale Index finished August at $117.71 per point, up slightly from $117.22 in July, an increase of 0.4% for the month. Compared with August 2025, the index is 2.3% higher, continuing the modest appreciation that has characterized the resale market during 2026. One of the most important stories continues to be the shortage of resale inventory. The latest inventory data included in the report, measured at the end of July, shows 363 contracts listed across the three major DVC resale brokers compared with 664 one year earlier—a decline of 45.3%. Right of First Refusal Trends-August

From DVC Resale Market: Disney remained relatively selective with Right of First Refusal in August, but its activity was spread across a surprisingly wide range of resorts. Disney bought back 12 contracts across nine DVC resorts, bringing the 2026 total to 98 buybacks and a systemwide buyback rate of just 3.7%.Grand Californian, Grand Floridian and Old Key West continue to stand out as the resorts where ROFR has been most active, while more than 96% of resale contracts have still passed ROFR this year. The August report suggests buyers generally should not fear ROFR—but exceptionally low-priced contracts at certain resorts still deserve some caution.
