Meet Jimmy and his family
Thanksgiving, 2023
I never set out to write a comprehensive book on the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). What started as an effort to update a financial model quickly grew into an obsession. My wife and I dedicated over six years to gathering information for the DVC Field Guide Book, which I believe is the most comprehensive book on DVC ever written.
We are avid Disney enthusiasts, having taken over 50 trips to Walt Disney World and Disneyland, experiencing every season and staying at most of the WDW resorts. Despite our deep love for Disney, we didn't become DVC owners until 2014. It was a journey filled with discovery and excitement, which ultimately led us to purchase our second contract in 2016.
I worked as an accountant, but my greatest joy comes from being a grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren. Along with their parents, we take a DVC vacation in a grand villa every other year around Thanksgiving—a trip that would be impossible without our DVC membership.
However, a Disney Vacation Club membership is not for everyone. It requires a significant upfront investment and ongoing annual dues for potentially 50 years. Some individuals may not be ready for that kind of commitment; I know I wasn't at one point.
The DVC Field Guide, now in its fourth edition, serves as a comprehensive ownership manual for DVC membership, rooted in my own analyses. It contains a wealth of information that will undoubtedly help you make an informed decision with confidence.
