Aulani

Aulani

Overall Summary

Disney's Aulani Resort & Spa offers one of the most distinctive availability patterns in Disney Vacation Club. Home resort owners generally enjoy excellent booking opportunities at the 11-month window, while availability becomes considerably more competitive once reservations open to all members at seven months, particularly during the first half of the summer. Room view is the single biggest factor affecting booking success. Island Garden View and Ocean View accommodations consistently provide the strongest availability because of their substantially larger inventories, while Standard View and Poolside Garden View categories become much more competitive due to their limited supply. As summer draws to a close, availability improves across nearly every accommodation type, giving members without home resort priority their best opportunity to secure reservations.

Hotel Rooms

The Standard Hotel Rooms are among the most difficult accommodations to reserve at Aulani. With only eight rooms, availability is extremely limited once the seven-month booking window opens. Home resort owners have the greatest advantage, while members booking at seven months should expect these rooms to disappear almost immediately. Even near the end of August, only isolated nights typically remain available.

Deluxe Studios

Deluxe Studio availability varies dramatically by view category. Ocean View and Island Garden View Studios, each with more than 90 villas, consistently provide the strongest availability and remain realistic booking options at seven months throughout the summer. Poolside Garden View Studios become moderately more competitive because of their smaller inventory, while the 18 Standard View Studios are among the most difficult studios to reserve. Availability across every view improves noticeably during the final week of August as summer demand begins to ease.

1-Bedroom Villas

One-Bedroom Villas generally provide good summer availability, although view category again plays a significant role. Ocean View and Island Garden View Villas remain the easiest accommodations to reserve because of their larger inventories and consistently retain several nights of availability even at shorter booking windows. Poolside Garden View Villas become more competitive, while the 18 Standard View Villas remain difficult throughout much of the summer. By late August, availability improves across nearly every category.

2-Bedroom Villas

Two-Bedroom Villas follow a similar pattern. Ocean View and Island Garden View accommodations consistently provide the strongest booking opportunities, while Standard View and Poolside Garden View villas become significantly more competitive because of their smaller inventories. Dedicated and Lock-Off Villas remain obtainable at seven months in the larger view categories, although availability declines quickly during the peak summer weeks before rebounding toward the end of August.

3-Bedroom Grand Villas

Grand Villa availability depends almost entirely on view category. The 18 Ocean View Grand Villas maintain surprisingly strong summer availability, often retaining several consecutive nights at the seven-month booking window and becoming one of the easier Grand Villas in the DVC system to reserve. In contrast, the two Standard View Grand Villas are among the rarest accommodations at Aulani and are exceptionally difficult to reserve without home resort priority.

DVC Field Guide has captured booking patterns for every DVC resort/accommodation over the last 7 years. Understanding the booking patterns of Disney Vacation Club resorts can be a powerful tool when planning future stays. By knowing which resorts, room types, and travel dates tend to book first—and when availability is most likely to open up—members can make more informed, strategic reservation decisions. This insight helps guide when to book, whether to rely on the 11-month home resort window or the 7-month window, how to choose backup options, and how to maximize flexibility with room types and travel dates. Using booking patterns thoughtfully can reduce stress, improve availability outcomes, and ultimately lead to more successful and satisfying DVC vacations.

The tables below illustrate the average number of consecutive days available for booking a designated accommodation over a week, based on data collected over the past seven years. These availability figures align with what is displayed when searching for a unit on the DVC website. To make the data easily interpretable, a traditional red-and-green light format is used: green indicates the highest availability, while any number below 7 indicates limited availability and signals caution. A total of seven means that every day of the week is available for booking.
