Which Studios are the hardest to book at the 7-month window?- Here are the top Ten.
Studios are the most in-demand reservations
When booking accommodations through Disney Vacation Club, Studios are highly sought after due to their affordability, making them popular among guests. However, this popularity leads to them being booked quickly, especially during the crucial seven-month booking window. Consequently, securing a Studio can be more challenging compared to other accommodations within DVC resorts. Studios Sleep 4 or 5 guests.
In addition, there is consistent seasonal demand across most Disney World resorts. The fall season, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas, presents particular challenges for securing accommodations due to increased guest demand. Therefore, guests should plan ahead and be prepared for limited availability during these peak periods.
How Is Availability Determined?
In 2018, I began tracking DVC availability. Each week, I capture a snapshot of every DVC accommodation to see how many days are available for booking at 11, 7, 5, 3, and 1 month from the reservation date. You can find the details of my work at the availability link below. The tables on that link represent the average number of consecutive days available for specific accommodations over a week, based on data from the last six years. These numbers reflect the same availability indicators you see when booking a unit on the DVC website and are color-coded using the traditional red/green light format, where green indicates the most availability. If a number is seven, it means that all days are available; any number below that indicates some level of limited availability.
Here are the ten hardest Studios to book at seven months:
1. Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House - Kilimanjaro Club Deluxe Studios (0.1 days/week availability) consists of only five rooms, and these are the only club-level DVC Studios available. The limited inventory and the club-level designation make these the most difficult studios to book within all of DVC. Demand for these rooms remains consistently high throughout the year and has been steady for the past six years. Over the last 2 years, there has been no availability during the 7-month window in our tracking.

2. The Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House - Value Studios (0.4 days/week availability) offers the lowest point requirements per night of any DVC resort. Located on the fifth floor of Jambo House, these rooms are particularly popular among DVC fans. Similar to the Kilimanjaro Club studios, are hard to book year-round. For 2025, the average points required per night is only 10.4, ranging from 7 to 17 points per night. Remarkably, guests can stay at the resort for just 55 points per week in September. In 2024, our tracking indicated no rooms were available at the seven-month mark. These DVC rooms were created from existing Jambo House accommodations without initial consideration for DVC. They are smaller than a standard DVC studio, measuring 316 square feet, but they include all the familiar DVC room layouts and amenities.

3. Boardwalk - Deluxe Studios-Standard View (1.5 days/week availability). DVC members appreciate economical accommodations, and the Boardwalk Standard View studios are a great option. These studios have the third lowest DVC points per night at 13.6, with rates ranging from a low of 10 to a high of 22 points. There are 52 rooms available, each sleeping up to five guests. Conveniently located at the Boardwalk, these studios offer the lowest points per night for stays near EPCOT. The predominant view from these rooms is of the resort's driveway. Availability for these studios is limited throughout the year, particularly in the fall when demand for EPCOT accommodations is highest; there is typically no availability at the 7-month mark.

4. Aulani - Hotel Rooms (1.7 days/week availability). There are only eight DVC rooms at Aulani. As the name suggests, these hotel rooms are specifically assigned to the Disney Vacation Club. They are located near the parking garage, so they do not offer an ocean view. However, they are surprisingly larger than most studios, measuring 382 square feet. One of their main advantages is the lower points requirement—17.8 points per night—compared to a standard studio at Aulani, which requires 20.0 points per night. Availability at the 7-month mark is low throughout the year.

5. Boardwalk - Delxue Studios-Boardwalk View (1.8 days/week availability). Compared to other studios at Boardwalk, the boardwalk view rooms have the fewest available. There are only 29 of these rooms, in contrast to 52 standard view rooms and 164 garden/pool view rooms. These boardwalk view rooms are in high demand throughout the year, particularly from October to December, when the popular EPCOT food and wine festivals occur. They share the same point schedule as the garden/pool view rooms, but due to their limited availability and more desirable views, they tend to book up much faster.

6. Disneyland Hotel - Garden View Deluxe Studios (1.9 days/week availability). We have limited data available on booking patterns for the Disneyland Hotel. Reservations have been open for over a year, but it is reasonable to predict that this specific group of rooms will be among the most difficult to secure. There are only three of these rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, and their locations on the first and second floors provide easy access to the pool. The Disney Vacation Club makes new rooms available for point stays as needed, so it's unclear how many of these three rooms are currently available. This could temporarily affect the availability numbers.

7. Disneyland Hotel - Garden View Duo Studios (2.1 days/week availability). Similar to the Garden View Deluxe Studios, reservations for these rooms are limited, making them difficult to secure. There are only five of these rooms available, and their early booking pattern suggests that obtaining a reservation will be challenging. Duo Studios are only 251 square feet and sleep up to two people.

8. Riviera Resort - Tower Studios (2.2 days/week availability). These rooms were the first two-guest DVC studios. Their popularity is due to the relatively low point cost per night (15.3) and the few rooms available (24). These rooms are hard to get, especially during the October-December period.

9. Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studios - Standard View (Resort View) (2.3 days/week availability). These studios are the most affordable deluxe studios on the monorail loop, averaging 17.9 points per night. Guests can stay in these studios for as little as 13 points per night. Only 24 of these studios are available, and they are just a short walk from the Magic Kingdom.

10. Riviera Resort - Deluxe Studios-Standard View. (Resort View) (2.4 days/week availiablity). These studios can accommodate up to five guests and have been very popular since the Riviera opened. The studios are only a few points per night more expensive than the Tower Studios, with a score of 19.1 compared to 17.9; however, they can sleep five people instead of just two. Their proximity to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is a significant attraction. Additionally, the standard view at this resort is surprisingly good, offering a better view of the EPCOT fireworks than the preferred view.

he availability tables display the average number of consecutive days available for booking a specific accommodation for a week over the last six years. These numbers are the same availability indicators you see when booking a unit on the DVC website. The numbers are color-coded using the traditional red/green light format, with green indicating the most availability. If the number is seven, then all days are available. Any number below that represents some level of tightness in availability.
The data is collected at each of the intervals listed for a seven-day vacation starting on Sunday. For each time interval, a snapshot is taken immediately before the reservation window opens at 8 a.m. EST. If you book your home resort eleven months in advance, the number shown in the eleven-month field indicates the available days for your vacation. Each of the remaining columns provides a snapshot of the availability you might see as you get closer to your vacation day. The corresponding historical week number and the dates for 2024 and 2025 are listed.*
* Please note that some reservation booking patterns were distorted during the COVID-19 pandemic as DVC relaxed its cancellation policy. This temporary policy change affected the 5-month, 3-month, and 1-month bookings most. Therefore, the data collected for the following weeks was not used in the above availability tables: 5-months- August 16, 2020-August 29, 2021; 3-months-June 14, 2020-July 4, 2021; and 1-month- April 12, 2020-May 2, 2021.
