Availability Guide for DVC Reservations
Disneyland Resorts
February 2027
DVC Field Guide has captured booking patterns for every DVC resort/accommodation over the last 7 years. Understanding the booking patterns of Disney Vacation Club resorts can be a powerful tool when planning future stays. By knowing which resorts, room types, and travel dates tend to book first—and when availability is most likely to open up—members can make more informed, strategic reservation decisions. This insight helps guide when to book, whether to rely on the 11-month home resort window or the 7-month window, how to choose backup options, and how to maximize flexibility with room types and travel dates. Using booking patterns thoughtfully can reduce stress, improve availability outcomes, and ultimately lead to more successful and satisfying DVC vacations.
The tables below illustrate the average number of consecutive days available for booking a designated accommodation over a week, based on data collected over the past seven years. These availability figures align with what is displayed when searching for a unit on the DVC website. To make the data easily interpretable, a traditional red-and-green light format is used: green indicates the highest availability, while any number below 7 indicates limited availability and signals caution. A total of seven means that every day of the week is available for booking.

Disneyland Resort Accommodations
Disneyland Hotel
The booking patterns for the Disneyland Hotel clearly indicate a strong preference among Disneyland members for staying at this location. Early booking trends show that only a limited number of accommodations are available for full-week stays within the 7-week window, underscoring their popularity. Given that Disneyland has only recently opened, DVC has yet to declare the full inventory of rooms accessible to DVC members. This evolving situation will certainly influence future reservations. Looking ahead to 2026, Disneyland is expected to have approximately 169 of its 326 units operational, representing 52% of the total, according to the Annual Dues Statement. Early declarations were primarily studios. There is typically no availability at 5 months. Reservations are usually fully booked within a few hours of the 7-month window opening. One important point to note is that, at this resort, the DVC has decided to include the hotel transient tax as a charge to the individual staying at the resort rather than the owner. As a result, at checkout, guests will be required to pay a $2.96 tax per point.
Studios—With mostly studios declared initially, you can see how the higher inventory created some availability at the 7-month window. Typically, across DVC, Studios are among the least available. This pattern may change as other villa types are declared.
1 Bedroom- Early on, there was only one of these units declared. I am not sure how many of these units will be available after the next room declaration. As you can see, at the 7-month window, there’s little chance for a full week.
2-Bedroom-All two-bedroom villas are preferred-view units, comprising 18 lock-off units and 20 dedicated units. Initially, only three units were declared: one lock-off unit and two dedicated units. This is reflected in the availability tables, where the lock-off unit is less available than the dedicated villa.
Grand Villa: There are only two of these rooms available at the resort, and the initial declaration included just one of this type. These rooms are the most difficult to secure in DVC, even for DVC owners at the Disneyland Hotel. In my experience tracking availability, I've seen only one week with any openings at the 11-month mark.
Grand Californian
Availability at the Grand Californian is highly sought after, and as soon as the 7-month reservation window opens, rooms are typically booked within minutes. If the Grand Californian isn't your home resort, your best strategy to secure a room is to be online right when the reservation window opens. Acting quickly is key to increasing your chances of snagging a reservation.
Studios- Studios at Grand Cal are highly sought after, especially in early February when these units are typically booked quickly by members who have their home resort there. Towards the end of February, there appears to be more availability as the 7-month booking window opens; however, these units are still reserved rapidly.
1 Bedroom- One-bedroom units have more availability, but as you can see, after the 7-month window opens, these units have little to no availability.
2 Bedroom- There are two types of two-bedroom accommodations at the Grand Californian: lockoffs (comprising a studio and a one-bedroom) and dedicated units. As studios tend to be fully booked, the availability of lockoffs will be limited. Consequently, the availability of lockoffs depends on the studio bookings. In contrast, dedicated two-bedroom units are generally more available at the seven-month mark.
Grand Villa- There are only two Grand Villas at this resort, and during the first part of February, they are predominantly booked by the owners, leaving only limited availability in the 7-month booking window. However, we typically see some availability at the end of February. Note that the point schedule will change during the last week, so securing a Grand Villa at that time will require 60% more points compared to previous weeks in February.
