While home resort owners continue to enjoy the greatest booking advantage, the availability shown here reflects a resort that is still maturing. Only a limited number of booking cycles have been observed, and Disney has not yet declared all villas into the DVC association. As additional inventory is added over time, booking patterns are likely to change. The current data provides an early snapshot of member demand rather than a long-term expectation.
Duo Studios
Duo Studios appear to be among the most competitive accommodations at the resort. Their limited inventories and attractive point charts result in availability dropping quickly after the seven-month booking window opens. However, because only a limited number of booking cycles are represented, it is too early to determine whether this will remain the long-term trend.
Deluxe Studios
The Preferred View Deluxe Studios, which represent the largest studio inventory, currently provide the strongest booking opportunities at seven months. The much smaller Standard and especially Garden View categories become more competitive because of their limited inventories. As additional villas are declared into the association, availability between these categories may change.
1-Bedroom Villas
With only 19 one-bedroom villas currently declared, this category appears to be highly competitive at seven months. However, the limited inventory currently in service makes it difficult to determine whether this accurately reflects future booking patterns. Additional declarations may significantly improve availability over time.
2-Bedroom Villas
Both the Dedicated and Lock-Off 2-Bedroom Villas currently show limited seven-month availability. Given the small number of declared villas and limited historical data, these observations should be viewed as preliminary. Booking trends will likely become more predictable as Disney completes additional inventory declarations.
3-Bedroom Grand Villas
The availability charts currently show essentially no availability for the Grand Villas. Rather than indicating exceptionally high demand, this is more likely a reflection of the extremely limited amount of inventory currently declared and the very small number of booking cycles available for analysis. It is simply too early to draw meaningful conclusions about long-term Grand Villa availability.
Grand Californian
Overall Summary
Disney's Grand Californian Villas remains one of the most difficult Disney Vacation Club resorts to reserve during the summer. Its unbeatable location with a private entrance into Disney California Adventure, combined with an exceptionally small inventory of villas, results in consistently high demand across every accommodation type. While home resort owners generally enjoy excellent booking success at the 11-month window, availability drops dramatically once reservations open to all members at 7 months. With few exceptions, members without home resort priority should not expect to find a full-week summer reservation.
Deluxe Studios
With only 23 Deluxe Studios, this is one of the most competitive studio categories in Disney Vacation Club. While owners can typically reserve a full week at the 11-month window, availability is extremely limited at seven months and rarely extends beyond that point. Members hoping to stay in a studio during the summer should plan to own at Grand Californian or be prepared to use a waitlist.
1-Bedroom Villas
The 23 One-Bedroom Villas provide slightly better availability than the studios but remain highly competitive. Full-week reservations are generally available for home resort owners, but by seven months availability often disappears quickly. Although an occasional night or two may remain, members without home resort priority should not expect consistent booking success during peak summer travel.
2-Bedroom Villas
Both the Dedicated and Lock-Off 2-Bedroom Villas are exceptionally difficult to reserve. With only 23 villas in each configuration, demand far exceeds supply during the summer months. Availability at seven months is extremely limited, and full-week reservations are rarely available. Members planning a summer family vacation should strongly consider using home resort priority.
3-Bedroom Grand Villas
The two Grand Villas are among the rarest accommodations in Disney Vacation Club, making them a challenging reservation throughout the summer. Home resort owners enjoy the greatest booking advantage at the 11-month window, but members booking at seven months may still find 3 to 6 consecutive nights available, depending on the travel week. While a full-week reservation at seven months is uncommon, shorter stays are often possible, and members with flexible travel dates may still have success.
