Disney closed its theme parks, Disney Springs, hotels, and DVC resorts in mid-March 2021 to comply with the US Centers for Disease Control guidelines. These are unprecedented times that affected all of Disney's properties and the DVC membership. Unfortunately, DVC has a real problem when it comes to point utilization. The shutdowns of DVC resorts and the low occupancy rate afterward have created a backlog of vacation points for DVC owners. It may take years to use up these points.
