Meet Jimmy and his family

Thanksgiving, 2023

I hadn’t planned on writing a comprehensive book on the Disney Vacation Club when I started my research back in May 2018.  I only wanted to update a financial model I developed to analyze DVC purchases.  From there, the project grew and grew into an obsession.  My wife and I have spent the last 5 ½ years gathering information and putting it all together in the DVC Field Guide Book.  I believe it is the most comprehensive DVC book ever written.

Our families are Disney nerds, taking over 50 Walt Disney World and Disneyland trips.  We have gone during every season and have stayed at most WDW resorts.  My first visit to WDW was in 1973, a little over a year from opening day.  Despite many trips, we didn’t become DVC owners until 2014.  We soon found out we needed more points so we bought our second contract in 2016.

I am an accountant by trade, but by far, my best work is being a grandfather to five amazing grandchildren.--Halle, Cooper, Jax, Evelyn, and Knox.  Along with their parents, we take a DVC vacation in a grand villa every other year around Thanksgiving.  A trip that would be impossible if we didn’t own a DVC membership.

That being said, a Disney Vacation Club membership is not for everyone.  It takes a considerable expense on the front-end and an annual dues expense that could continue for 50 years.  Some people just are not ready for that kind of commitment.  I know at one time I wasn’t.

The DVC Field Guide is in it’s 3rd publicaton.  It is a comprehensive ownership manual to DVC membership that began with my own analysis.  I know the information will help you make your decision as well.

If you have any questions or reviews, please let me know.
