The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa are the only DVC resort near Disneyland and California Adventure Park. Opening September 23, 2009, these Villas were born out of an expansion of the Grand Californian Hotel, including additional hotel rooms and DVC Villas. There are only 48 rooms in a separate wing of the resort.

The hotel and DVC expansion were designed by Peter Dominick, who also designed Animal Kingdom-Jambo House and Wilderness Lodge. Guests have an exclusive entrance to Disney California Adventure Park and are only a short walk to Disneyland Park and Downtown Disney.

There is a high demand for these rooms. If you want to stay here regularly, then you may need to be an owner. These rooms are hard to get and almost impossible to book shortly after the seven-month window opens. At five months, there are usually no rooms available year-round. The initial purchase price is the highest on direct and resale markets, but the maintenance cost is the lowest of any DVC resort.

Two-Bedroom Villas

Two-Bedrooms Villas are Three-room units that sleep up to nine people. These villas are large. The lock-offs are 1,244 square feet, and the dedicated are 1,257.

The Lock-off units have a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a queen-size sleeper sofa. The Dedicated Two-Bedroom has two queen beds instead of a queen bed and sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. The dedicated units also sleep nine. The dedicated unit will only have one entrance to the villa, whereas the lock-off will have two separate entrances. There are three bathrooms in the dedicated units with the same setup as the lock-offs. The master has a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub, the second bedroom has a combination tub and shower, and the common bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Both unit types have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and two balconies.

There are two more bedrooms upstairs with two queen-size beds in each room. Each of these rooms has its own bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the villa's living area and a double-sized sleeper sofa in the loft area between the two bedrooms. The fourth bathroom is on the lower level and has a walk-in shower. The loft area also has a pool table. There is a full-sized kitchen and a separate dining area. These units are two-story and are located on floors four and five of the resort.
