Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Disney's Saratoga Springs and Spa is the largest DVC resort with 888 official accommodations. The resort is themed after the upstate New York town of Saratoga Springs in the early 20th century, a vacation haven for the upper class. The resort opened in May 2004. This DVC resort also has a horse racing theme from Saratoga as well. The spa located at this resort is one of the best Disney has to offer.
Included at Saratoga Springs Villas and located about half a mile away from the main house are sixty treehouse villas, the most unique set of accommodations at any DVC resort. These treehouses are heavily secluded and are off the ground about ten feet. They are situated next to Lake Buena Vista Golf Course.
Vacation availability at this resort is the best of any DVC resort. At seven months, when DVC reservations open up for all guests regardless of home resort, most rooms are available.
Room Descriptions
These accommodations just completed a full refurbishment in 2021.
Studios
Studios are one-room units that accommodate up to four people. The resort has 432 of these rooms in inventory, with sleeping accommodations of one queen-size bed and a double-size Murphy bed/couch. The room has a microwave, sink, and small refrigerator in the kitchenette. In the bathroom, there is a sink and a combination tub and shower. The Studio rooms are 355 square feet, and all have a balcony/patio.
One-Bedroom Villas
One-Bedroom Villas are two-room units that officially sleep up to five people. Saratoga Springs Resort has 432 of these units. The master bedroom has a king-size bed in a separate room. A queen-size murphy bed sofa combination is in the living room, along with a twin-sized fold-out bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. The bathroom is unique with a split room. One side has a sink and tub, and the other side has a sink, toilet, and walk-in shower. One-Bedroom Villas are 714 square feet.
Two-Bedroom Villas
Two-Bedroom Villas are three-room units. Two-Bedroom Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort are either lock-off units (rooms made up of connecting Studios and One-Bedroom units) or dedicated units. There are 432 lock-off units and 360 dedicated units. Both units sleep nine (after refurbishment) and are 1,070 square feet.
The Lock-off units have a master bedroom with a king-size bed in one room and a second bedroom with a queen-size bed and a double-sized Murphy bed/sofa combination. In the living room, there is a queen-size sleeper sofa and a twin-sized fold-out bed. There are two bathrooms. The master has a walk-in shower and tub, and the second bedroom has a combination tub and shower.
The Dedicated Two-Bedroom units are the same setup as the lock-off units. The only difference is in the second bedroom, where there are two queen-size beds. The dedicated units will only have one entrance to the Villa, whereas the lock-off will have two separate entrances.
Both unit types have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and one balcony.
Treehouse Villas
Treehouses Villas sleep up to nine people. These villas are independent units shaped like an octagon and are about ten feet off of the ground. There are 60 of these, with only four being handicap accessible with a ramp. The DVC website lists this accommodation as a Two-Bedroom, but it has three. Two rooms have a queen-size bed in the bedrooms, and the third has a bunk bed. In the living room, there is a queen-size sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair.
There are two bathrooms in the Villa, and the master has a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub, while the other bathroom has a combination shower/tub. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and a washer-dryer in each treehouse.
Grand Villas (3 Bedroom)
Grand Villas sleep up to twelve people and are 2,113 square feet in size. The 36 villas are two-story units. Each accommodation has a master bedroom with a tub and a shower in a dedicated bathroom. Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms. Each bedroom has two queen-size beds. Each of these rooms has a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There is also a queen-size Murphy bed/sofa combination in the living area of the unit. There is a fourth bathroom downstairs, and it has a walk-in shower. The Villa has a fully equipped kitchen and a separate dining area along with a washer and dryer.
Villa Views/Types/Locations
The accommodation locations are either Standard or Preferred. The preferred sites are The Springs and Congress Park. The Springs are near the Carriage House and main pool, whereas Congress Park has close access to the walking trail to Disney Springs. The Springs room numbers are 3101-4436, and Congress Parks are 1101-2836. The standard locations are The Grandstand (8101-9836), The Carousel (7101-7836), and the Paddock (4501-6836). The standard locations are The Grandstand (8101-9836), The Carousel (7101-7836), and the Paddock (4501-6836). The up-charge in points/night is 10-20% higher for the preferred rooms.
