Disney’s Hilton Head Resort

Located off South Carolina's coast on Longview Island, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort was the third DVC resort and the second one not at a Disney Theme Park. The resort opened in March 1996, and officially has 102 vacation accommodations. The rooms are very spacious and are some of the largest ones at any DVC resort. Hilton Head's main lobby is called Live Oak Lodge, and several other buildings house more villas. The lodge is not beach front, but the Disney-owned Beach House is only a few minutes away. The entry price per point is meager, but the annual maintenance dues are the second-highest of any resort.

The current location of the villas was not the originally planned location. Disney wanted to build in the more exclusive Palmetto Dunes area. This area was beach front and included several expensive homes in a private development. However, the affluent owners did not want timeshares in their area and cited a covenant that forbids it. In the end, the parties could not agree, and Disney moved to the current resort location.

Room Descriptions

Studios

Studios are One-room units that accommodate up to four people. Hilton Head has 21 of these rooms in inventory. The sleeping area of the room has a single queen bed and a double-size sleeper. The kitchenette has a microwave, sink, and small refrigerator. The bathroom has a single sink and a combination tub and shower. Studio rooms are 455 square feet.

One-Bedroom Villas

One-Bedroom Villas are two-room units and sleep up to five people. Hilton Head has 21 of these units. The master bedroom has a king-size bed in a separate room. In the living room, there is a queen-size sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. There is one bathroom that has a walk-in shower and a whirlpool bathtub.

Two-Bedroom Villas

Two-Bedroom Villas are three-room units. There are 97 units made up of 21 lock-offs and 76 dedicated. Unlike most Two-Bedroom units at DVC, guests cannot choose at reservation whether they want a Lock-off or Dedicated Two-Bedroom. Both types of Two-Bedroom Villas will sleep nine.

The lock-off units have a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a double-size sleeper sofa. In the living room, there is a queen-size sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair. There are two bathrooms, the master has a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub, and the second bedroom has a tub/shower combination.

The Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villa has two queen beds in the second bedroom. The dedicated unit will only have one entrance to the villa, whereas the lock-off will have two separate entrances. There are two bathrooms in the dedicated units with the same setup as the lock-offs. The master has a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub, and the second bedroom has a tub and shower. Both unit types have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and two balconies.

Grand Villas (3 Bedroom)

Grand Villas are five units that sleep up to twelve people. They are 2,362 square feet in size. Each villa has a master bedroom with a whirlpool tub and a walk-in shower in a dedicated bathroom. There are two more bedrooms with two queen-size beds in each room, each having its own bathroom with a tub/shower combination. In the living room, there is a queen-size sleeper sofa. There is a full-sized kitchen and a separate dining area. These units are two-story, with the master unit being downstairs with the living room.

Villa Views/Types/Locations

There are no view/location choices, but here are where the rooms are located. Views include woodland views of the interior island or water views.

Studios- 21 Total (Building 11-10 units; Building 12-6 units; Buildings 16,18,19,28,30 - 1 unit in each.

One-Bedroom Villas- 21 Total (Building 11-10 units; Building 12-6 units; Buildings 16,18,19,28,30 - 1 unit in each.

Two-Bedrooms lock-offs- 21 Total (Building 11-10 units; Building 12-6 units; Buildings 16,18,19,28,30 - 1 unit in each.

Two-Bedroom dedicated- 76 total- four in all buildings except there are none in Buildings 11 and 12

Grand Villas- The Grand Villas are in buildings 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30.
