DVC Boardwalk Studio

Studios-Boardwalk Villas

Disney Vacation Club resorts offer a variety of room types, including Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, Two-Bedroom Villas, and Three-Bedroom Grand Villas. While some resorts may not have all of these options, a Studio is always available for reservations. Studios can accommodate 2-5 guests and are the most popular choice for DVC accommodations. Due to their popularity, Studios tend to fill up quickly, so it's recommended to book them as early as possible.

A Studio at a Disney resort is similar to a hotel room. It usually consists of a single room that includes a small kitchenette and a bathroom. However, unlike a hotel room, DVC rooms typically only have one queen-size bed and one fold-out couch or pull-down Murphy bed. This setup allows for more space during the day. If a fifth guest is accommodated, there will be a single pull-down bed provided.

There are a few things to keep in mind when considering staying in a Deluxe Studio room at a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort. The Tower Studio at Riviera Resort is a small room measuring only 255 square feet and has only one bed, which is a Murphy bed that pulls down from the wall over the couch. The Studio room at Old Key West and the new Grand Floridian Resort Studio rooms (coming in 2022) are the only ones that have two queen-size beds.

If you are looking to accommodate a fifth person in the room, please note that the pull-down beds are small, measuring only 29" x 67" which is a little smaller than a regular twin-sized mattress. However, the pull-down bed at Riviera Deluxe Studio is much larger than the other resorts and should be able to comfortably accommodate an adult.

Villas undergoing cyclical room refurbishments will likely have the sleeper sofa replaced with a combination sofa/pull-down queen-size murphy bed. These units function as a couch during the day, but convert from the wall to a queen-size bed at night.

In the living area, you will typically find a couch that converts to a bed at night, along with a coffee table or ottoman. There is usually a small table and a couple of chairs that serve as a place for in-room dining or a workplace. The typical Studio room will also have a closet or armoire for hanging clothes or storage.

The kitchenette is a standard feature in a Studio room and usually has a counter top with a sink and shelves to store supplies attached to the wall. The kitchenette at Bay Lake Tower is a split unit, almost like a separate kitchen section. Please note that Studio kitchenettes are not large units and do not have the same kitchen space or conveniences of the larger full kitchens in the One, Two, or Three-Bedroom Villas.

Completing the floor plan is the bathroom. Bathrooms in Deluxe Studios are typically a shower/tub combination only or have a dedicated shower (Copper Creek Deluxe Studio with walk-in shower) or both (Polynesian, Riviera, Grand Floridian). They will have one sink (Animal Kingdom-Jambo house and Polynesian have two). Split design bathrooms can be found at Polynesian, Riviera, and Grand Floridian. Bathrooms have shampoo and soap, as well as a hairdryer.

Please note that Studios at DVC resorts do not have access to an in-room washer and dryer, nor do they have a dishwasher. These amenities are only available in the One, Two, and Three-Bedroom units. Studio rooms share a laundry facility located in the resort.

Finally, it is essential to know that Studios range in floor size from 251 square feet at Disneyland Hotel Duo units to 455 square feet at Hilton Head Island Studios. The largest Studio at Walt Disney World is the Polynesian Resort at 447 square feet.

Studio-Point Requirement

The Animal Kingdom Villa-Jambo House offers Value Studios, which require the fewest points to book. For 2024, these units cost an average of 10.4 points per night. On the other hand, the highest points per night are required for the new Theme Park View Resort Studios at the Grand Floridian, which cost 31.0 points per night. If you're looking for a Studio that accommodates five people, the Boardwalk Standard View requires the lowest point requirement, which is 13.6 points per night.
